The way we see it, kids’ scores shouldn’t be divided so strongly along socioeconomic lines as they are now–in other words, which families can afford tutoring, and which can’t.
And when typical SAT prep courses can run you as much as $1000 or more, that’s something to really cheer about. Khan Academy is committed to the idea that all students who want to go to college should be able to prepare for the SATs at their own pace for absolutely no cost. We’ve been huge fans of Khan Academy since, and now we’re raising our collective fists in the air to cheer for the new Khan Academy free SAT prep courses. It’s been 10 years since Sal Khan first started creating educational video tutorials to help his niece across the country with her math homework.
